The full whack of 15%. Deep and fruity as a Barossa Shiraz but without the smack your head off overload, making it a more approachable, drinkable any time kind of wine. Especially good with a Sunday roast, equally at home with a barbecue. Also comfortable in front of the telly. Our everyday fave. Available from Laithwaites (http://tinyurl.com/zy8sf).

A nasty little wine. El Bombero definitely falls into the "Big Reds" category and is all the worse for it. It just cant hide the alcohol and as a result has a paint stripper quality to it. I only give it a ranking for fulfilling the basic function of getting drunk.
