Chateau D'Arcins 2003 Bordeaux
(about 1 year ago)An inexpensive, average, everyday bordeaux. Light body, somewhat too light, under complex, but has decent structure and hints of currant, casis, and a tart finish.
Chateau D'Arcins 2003 Bordeaux
(about 1 year ago)Maybe an 89 is too generous of me, but I was in such a good mood when I enjoyed this wine. It's ruby in color, not the slightest bit purple or brown, with a medium to medium-light body. Overall, I found the flavor subtle and a bit thin (rainy harvest?), but still complex and solidly Bordeaux in character. I'd say it was acidic / sour (not at all sweet), and perhaps a little bitter on the finish. I didn't think the wine was too astringent, but somehow the alcohol wins out in its balance. The nose was too subtle for the wine's alcohol content (13%), but upon further consideration revealed rather apparent liquorice and subtle fruit (to me, mainly prunes).
