I have had it with aged Provolone and a Sicilian marinara. It's one of the best pairings of my life. The peppery/buttery/fruity of the wine hits the peppery/buttery/fruity tones of pizza/pasta, and two simple foods blend into one complex one. Accessible to untrained palates (especially good for beer-drinkers), but fairly interesting for the price. It's my first choice with pizza/pasta and friends.
