Your good, everyday workhorse of a merlot. Tried it based on WS' recent 90ish point score for it. Mild tannins, moderate acidity, good mouthfeel and body, good finish. Bouquet was rather tight, and most of what I remember was some oakiness. Would try it again, and would keep it as a good house wine to have on-hand.

There is a fruity sweetness to the wine and a woody finish. Cherries are distinguishable. It also is very smooth and feels good in the mouth.

The vineyard recommends cellaring for 3-10 years and at this price I will grab a couple bottles for future consumption.

I ate a slice of meatball pizza that I made tonight and the wine really intensified the peppery taste in the sauce..... it was darn good! 03/02/07
