1999 Baron de Ona Rioja Reserva
(about 1 year ago)Ready to drink now; dry, complex, smooth Rioja, strong hints of ripe dark berries and a strong finish. Good acid balances mellow tannins.
1999 Baron de Ona Rioja Reserva
(about 1 year ago)Silky and luxurious. Very full-bodied with notes of black fruit and a slightly leathery nose. Drinking exceptionally well right now. Great value.

(11 months ago)Silky smooth on your tongue and full of berry and deep plum tones. Mmmmm.

(11 months ago)This is a very exceptional wine for the price. In this case the single estate aspect is a big plus since there is nothing unpleasant about this wine. The nose is wonderful, spicy and paradoxically complex within a narrow range. Pleasing start and a nice, if not long, finish. A lighter Rioja than I am accustomed to but in this case there is no disappointment, only happiness! Very little sweetness, mostly dry and musty in a very good way.
