The Black Chook Sparkling Shiraz
(over 2 years ago)This was a gamble that really paid off. A surprising amount of fruit for a sparkler made for a deliciously good time. Recommended.
The Black Chook Sparkling Shiraz
(over 2 years ago)Excellent wine. Full of flavor with the right amount of carbonation.

(over 2 years ago)Always a fan of red bubbles, this one was rich, with aromas of raspberry jam and chocolate, flavors of more raspberry and coffee. Quite tasty.
The Black Chook Sparkling Shiraz
(over 2 years ago)Wow, what a treat. Great taste with a little bit of tartness and a rich fruity finish. I would definitely recommend this wine. Watch out when you take off the cork though, I about killed my friend.
The Black Chook Sparkling Shiraz
(about 1 year ago)A real surprise. I wasn't expecting much, but was excited when my sales rep brought a bottle by, since i had never had a sparkling red anything. Nice cocoa, jammy, maybe some strawberry, and the sparkling fooled my tongue into getting all of the inherent acidity. Not a blow-me-out-of-the-water wine, but I am glad that I had it. I would use this on a menu pairing with wild mushrooms or rich, creamy cheeses.

(about 1 year ago)This wine was a lot of fun. Not an everyday type wine for me but good for a change of pace.
The Black Chook Sparkling Shiraz
(about 1 year ago)A real fun wine that goes great with chocolate and BBQ (but not BBQ chocolate). Not an everyday wine, or even an every month one, but fun and unusual nonetheless.
The Black Chook Sparkling Shiraz
(about 1 year ago)Full-bodied with definite berry flavors. Surprising and especially delicious with blackberries and fresh melon.
The Black Chook Sparkling Shiraz
(about 1 year ago)Also a surprise for me. I have had the Black Chook Shiraz Viognier before and spied this sparkling at Astor Wines and decided to pick it up. What a steal! It's inexpensive, refreshing and massively enjoyable full of raspberry, cherry, mocha and a mild tobacco. Right now it's full of adolescent energy and should mellow out nicely in just a few years. It's under $20 pick it up if you see it!
The Black Chook Sparkling Shiraz
(about 1 year ago)Australian version of an Emilian Lambrusco. Fresh raspberries with hints of rosemary and nougat (kinda like a Mars bar) on the nose. Not too fruity, it has a distinctive character. Very well built and extremely enjoyable, a real surprise.

(about 1 year ago)I normally shy away from sparkling wines, but this was an interesting surprise. Very delicious, a bit of berry but not sweet and very smooth. It was the perfect "something different" that I was looking for.
The Black Chook Sparkling Shiraz
(9 months ago)Really nice for a cookout. Light, crispy red you can chill and drink in the summer.

(4 months ago)Wine of the night at a recent sparklers tasting. We paired it with some dark chocolate for dessert which was spectacular. It's a really deep dark and flavorful wine that is surprisingly refreshing compared to it's non-sparkling brethren. I'd recommend as a BBQ wine slightly chilled on a summer afternoon - people will flip for it!
The Black Chook Sparkling Shiraz
(3 months ago)What a nice surprise! We got this bottle as a Christmas gift and thought... 'interesting, a sparkling red.' This wine is bursting with different fruit flavors from start to finish, without being overpowering, and the carbonation adds just the right touch. We served it chilled. Yum! This wine would make a great unique gift!
