This pioneering Washington state winery makes 88,000 cases of this Riesling and I wish they could make twice that. It's a textbook example of why you shouldn't shy away from a wine just because it's noticeably sweet. This one has nearly 6% residual sugar but it's perfectly balanced by a high level of refreshing acidity and luscious spice/apricot/pear flavors. The aromas are pretty and the finish is clean. Yes, you could drink it at the end of the meal with cheese or dessert, but also as an aperitif or with heartier dishes such as roast pork. Floral, honeyed aroma with hints of apricot, pear and allspice. Rich and full-flavored fruit on the palate is balanced by clean, crisp acidity. Fine rich aroma of apricot and honey, crisp clean acidity with fine lingering aftertaste. This wine pairs well with Smoked salmon, tempura vegetables, ahi chargrilled, and appetizers.

Very sweet, honey, lush fruit. Pleasant, easy-to-drink, and good with Chinese food. Not much body or complexity, but something everyone at a gathering could enjoy.
