Tasting Notes from Cork’d Members
2004 Williams Selyem Russian River ValleyPinot Noir
(about 1 year ago)Light to med purple, long legs. Refined Pinot Noir nose of raspberry/blackberry, earth and forest, vanilla. T: fruit is understated compared to Sonoma and balanced by toasty, earthy and meaty notes. Fruit even a bit closed. Smooth, supple, tasty tannins make this a good fish and white meat wine. Complex and changing with time. Light and Beaune-like. This is my style of Pinot Noir and will be great in a few months (tasted soon after release). May rate higher when it opens up. 2d Day--raspberry opened up a bit.
