2003 La Spinetta Monferrato Rosso Pin
(about 1 year ago)Big, beautiful wine. Interestingly, this tastes NOTHING like an Italian wine made of these grapes, but almost exactly like a California Cab. Bizarre, but tastes wonderful. Decanted for 1 hour before drinking and really opened up into an intensely jammy and lush fruity wine, with emphasis on black currants and cherries and some leather notes. There was a bit of cigar box smell on the nose too.
