Brief finish and a bit short on the nose, but for $8 a bottle, this 2005 bordeaux sets you up for the amazing vintage that lies ahead. Very impressed from this inexpensive, "lower-grade" winery. A very pleasant flavor, and with a few hours decanted, fairly smooth flavor. Even though this wine is thin, it's still a very drinkable, meal-time juice. I'd recommend it for the price/value.

On a pop 'n pour right out of a 55o cellar the Mylord displayed a tight nose. I tasted it at this time and found it to be thin, excessively tannic and lacking character. After decanting for several hours, my next glass was significantly better. On the nose cherries, red fruits and cedar came through quite strong. Sour cherry dominates the fruit profile, and I get a strong pepper component on the mid-palate to the finish. I am actually finding this quite interesting for a cheap Bordeaux. There is enough structure for this wine to last for perhaps five years or so, but not sure if the fruit will stand up. Drink now, but I think the key to enjoying this wine is to allow it to breathe for a few hours.

I agree with the other poster - pretty tight on the nose after opening. I also decanted for a few hours after initial pop. I got some sweettart smells on the nose (sour fruit or something) with a little menthol and cedar thrown in. I also got the sour cherry on the palate. Not a whole lot of body or complexity but a decent Bordeaux for the price ($10-15 range).
