(about 1 year ago)Blackberry undertones, spicy, tangy on tounge.

(about 1 year ago)Spanish Garnacha is becoming part of my steady diet. This 2005 should drink nicely for the next few years.

(about 1 year ago)Aroma: Very Interesting Nose. Very Earthy, Smoky Oak, Tobacco Leaf, and Cherry and Raisin Flavor: Cherry, raisins, earth, cloves, smoked wood, hint of vanilla and coffee Terrific wine for a remarkable price, just does not get much better QPR than this wine. One of my house favorites and ironically, I later learned that the same 2 guys make the El Nido Clio (which I can NOT say enough about, liquid bless). Also, make Juan Gil and I believe Tres Picos. And I never knew until I started scouting around the web. This is another wine like the Columbia Crest Merlot where I have been drinking for years totally on a whim and continue to enjoy. Nice to see I was not wrong on thinking I had found a gem of a wine. 1st thing was the nose was extremely interesting. More old world in the delivery. Earthy and could not get over the smoky aromas from the wine. In a very good way! Cherry fruit hit the palette but not too sweet & moves to smoky wood, toasted coffee flavors and a touch of spice on the finish. Nice finish, a tad thin but all in all nice. Great mouth feel and well-balanced. I strongly recommend this wine. Little different than you typical fruit bombs, as it manages some complexity that is unheard of in a $11 bottle of wine!

(about 1 year ago)Great dark crimson color. Aromatic nose with a touch of raspberries, a hint of cassis, leather, and a touch of earthiness. Full-bodied with loads of ripe black cherry with a touch of raspberry syrup, finishing off with a peppery spiciness. Though I'll depart slightly from the other reviews because at least with the bottle I had it seemed to fall apart pretty quickly and heat really started showing through. Maybe I will give it another try.

(about 1 year ago)Couldn't state it better than caz_v above - excellent QPR on this wine. Can't quite give it a 90, but it's right there.
Tres Picos Borsao Garnacha 2005
(about 1 year ago)Great value for the price. Strong cherry and dark fruit notes and a very even balance of tannin and acidity. The body is solid, but not anywhere as near as full as a Cab or Syrah.

(about 1 year ago)A good, fruit-heavy wine. Nice cherry flavor with a pleasant medium body. For what it's worth, this is the first Grenache that showed me I might actually enjoy Grenache.
