Yes, merlot is tiresome these days, and everyone's moved on to pinot noir, but for a beer-drinker like me, this is a tasty little wine. I've seen it for sale in New York for twelve bucks, which is probably excessive, but here in northern California, we often find it for six to seven dollars, which can't be beat. An uncomplicated wine, it's probably no one's absolute favorite, but it's the one I most often take to dinner parties, and everyone always likes it.

Sure it's "just" merlot, but it's a damn fine one. You can get it at Costco for under 7 bucks (in Oregon anyways), we buy it everytime we go... :D

It sells for about 9 bucks in Jersey, very reasonable in my opinion. Great with italian food and/or meat dishes.

We got a bottle of this as a Christmas gift. After seeing the price, I would definitely buy a bottle or two myself... good value for the money. The wine had plenty of fruit and a pleasant finish.
