Château Haut Nadeau 2005 Réserve du Propriétaire Bordeaux Supérieur
(about 1 year ago)I think Mr. Gary Vaynerchuk is right: 2005 will be a knock-out year for Bordeaux. All though it was really too early to drink, it was still pretty damned good. Good mouth feel, nice fruit on the palate (grape mainly), with a hint of tobacco and a nice, dry finish. With a handful of years of cellaring, this will be fantastic.

(about 1 year ago)Much like the other review, I feel I jumped the gun on this. But I am crazy about the mouthfeel here--not too aggro with the tannins, well balanced, and soft. The nose is fruity and nuanced, and probably will become moreso with some time. A good deal.

(about 1 year ago)Very drinkable with soft tannins, I'm guessing because of the merlot, a bit sour in the finish, with a short but fruity aftertaste. I would call it quaff-able, a nice wine.

(8 months ago)Just an average young Bordeaux. It looks more full bodied than it tastes. Floral notes with a touch of "Harvard Square T Station" on the nose. Cherry on the palate. A little bitter on the finish. I probably won't buy any more of this one.

(2 months ago)A solid, basic young Bordeaux. Simplistic nose, offering some plummy spice character. Palate shows the wines obvious Merlot underpinnings, with a round core of cherries and mineral. Modest finish, where well integrated tannins remain in the background. Improved significantly after being open 24 hrs. Can be drunk now with decanting for food but will certainly improve with a year in the cellar.
