Morgante 2005 Nero d'Avola
(11 months ago)Bouquet: Light Fruit mixed with cotton and earth. Subtle Alcohol. Uber focused pin-point nose. Flavor Profile: Starts off in Berry Land and moves to a more sour cherry dry finish. Very well balanced, very little heat on this wine. Delicious food wine with meatballs, sausage, pasta, pizza. Wish it was about 3 dollars cheaper. But overall nice, strong wine and finishes VERY DRY!!!

(5 months ago)First Nero that I have had. Enjoyed. GV was right that there are tons of chocolate covered cherries and strawberries.

(4 months ago)A delicious wine. Nice aromas of choclate and other good non-floral stuff. Excellent taste on the palate, but just a tad weaker on the finish than I'd prefer. Great, relatively affordable varietal to enjoy with informal Italian food. Would buy again.

(2 months ago)I had a hard time placing the nose. First I thought it was celery or some other vegetable, but after a few glasses (read what you like into that) and a lot of thought, I nailed it, it smells like fresh baked salmon... definitely. The taste is good, not great. I can taste the cherries and earth. I'll probably pick up another bottle or two.
