Rosemount Shiraz 2005
(about 1 year ago)Lovely body - not too sweet, not too big, perfectly drinkable.
Rosemount Shiraz 2005
(about 1 year ago)The acidity on the nose is overpowering, and I find it also making too big of a statement on the palate. The fruit is there (in the form of raisins and blackberries), but it is locked in a tug-of-war struggle with the steroid-enhanced acidity for the duration of the midpalate. The aftertaste loses all the fruit, and I'm left with tannins and, "The winner" Mr. Acidity. And yet, I'd rather drink this than the awful Toasted Head Chardonnay I had yesterday. . .

(about 1 year ago)I get the sense that there's not a lot going on with this bottle of wine. It's fine. Drinkable, Just a little fruity, a little acidic. But boring.

(about 1 year ago)Drinkable shiraz, but nothing special. I kept hoping for something more, yet never found it. The body is medium, color lovely, with a little fruit flavor. Slightly acidic and I wasn't at all in love with the after taste. But overall, it's drinkable. Got better after a few glasses, but I find that most wines do.

(about 1 year ago)Have to let this sit for a few hours before you get the best flavor. At first, very acidic on the nose and tongue, this ends up over-riding any good flavor that it has. We let it sit open for four hours and afterwards were able to enjoy it. Yes, not the best Shiraz out there, but for the price and just wanting a nice bottle to enjoy for no reason other than to enjoy, it's not bad. Strong red berry eaten by a piece of wood, best way i can describe it. Some citric flavor, smooth finish. I would buy again if i wasn't wanting something surprising.

(11 months ago)One of the first wines I have tried as I just got into wine drinking. When I first tried it, it was pretty acidic. However, I left it open for around an hour and it was drinkable. Taste of red berries, but no good finish on it. Decent color. I don't think I will be purchasing it again as it really did not stand out to me.

(8 months ago)The nose presents cherries for days. Just rich full fruit.
The cherries appear again when you taste the wine, but not as much as the nose promised. It is remarkable how this shiraz manages to combine a good amount of fruit and neventheless is absolutely dry. When old world and new world join hands and live happely ever after.
You have to open this wine at least one hour before drinking or it won't open up.

(8 months ago)Very Fruity wine but quite enjoyable along with the Spice Rubbed Pork Tenderloin that I had with it. Peppery Notes on the finish. I have had other Rosemount Shiraz Vintages and enjoy them as a simple everyday wine at a good price point.

(7 months ago)Sweet, fruit coming off sugary and fake. No complexity yet drinkable.
