Hess 2005 Su'skol Vineyard Chardonnay
(about 1 year ago)I thought this was just ok (especially considering the $30 price tag). The nose is very sweet, and also fairly high in alcohol (this was the first clue). On the tongue, sweet with hints of nice ripe pear, a little bit of grass, and tons oak. It's a 14.2% alcohol content, and it tastes every bit of it--LOTS of alcohol. I think, had it been $10 cheaper, I might have liked it quite a bit more, but for my $30, i think you can do much better.

(about 1 year ago)Pretty nice, but not for the price... Oak, vanilla, and some sauteed and buttered, pan fried pear flavors along with a little acid. Easy drinker, but would never pay more than 15 bucks for it.
