Watching Harold & Maude and enjoying a tasty little Malbec treat on the day of a resounding Bears victory. The Malbec is a tricky little grape. Sometimes the $7 bottles are exquisite, sometimes the $19 ones taste like cough medicine. South American wines in general don't seem to have as strong of a price-quality ratio as other bottles. But what do I know? This little number has nice balance of oak & grape. Hints of grape popsicle dipped in clay. Sometimes, when I taste South American wines, I taste a bit of the Virgin Mary. Harold reminds me of Edward Scissorhands. Okay, bottom-line: This is an excellent table wine. It would pair well with Italian, Carpaccio, pizza, and so forth. For the price, highly recommended. B
