2004 tasted alongside the 2003. Colour strong ruby, 2003 a touch more brown on the edges, the 2004 more purple. On the nose the 2003 has much stronger oak and vanilla, a smokiness with a vegetal aspect. 2004 similar, but less oak. Both showed strong tannins in the mouth, but medium body, 2004 much not so dry and with less length, but a good flavour of liquorice in the mid-palate. 2004 was superb with Stinking Bishop cheese (think Époisses).
