Berries and spice on a somewhat tight nose. Restrained fruit on the palate, definitely more of an old-world Chianti flavor profile. There are some strong astringent qualities. No mid-palate to speak of. Quite dry, short finish. Pleasant tasting but somewhat underwhelming.
