2005 Di Majo Norante Sangiovese
(about 1 year ago)Med to dark purple-red. Nose of candied cherry-raspberry, a bit of bubble gum with some earth and cedar underneath. Taste: much more here that the nose suggested. Lots of cedary earth, with dark cherry firmly in its place. Well balanced between earthy, meaty flavors and dark fruit. Tannins are young and present enough to stand up to a good red sauce, but do not get in the way. Finish is shorter than I would like, but still a bargain.

(about 1 year ago)Not a standalone wine: Should accompany food (like a red sauce) to tone down the tart nature of the wine. Slight fruit. Decent table wine.
2005 Di Majo Norante Sangiovese
(about 1 year ago)Dry and Bold. Interesting, likeable wine. Plenty of earth. Went well with cold roast beef, would have gone better I think with something more acidy - tomato sauce. good (of course) w/ sharp ny cheddar Went badly with fig newtons. dry, alc finish
2005 Di Majo Norante Sangiovese
(about 1 year ago)nice black fruits and earth on the nose, dry and similar taste to the nose not a bad wine. But I need to keep building my pallet and drink more wine.
2005 Di Majo Norante Sangiovese
(9 months ago)Floral and barnyard on the nose- I sware it reminded me of the Phoenix Zoo. Rather bitter for my taste, but I haven't tasted many Sangiovese to compare against. I don't think I'd buy this wine again. Purchased at Trader Joe's.
