Appellation: Catalonia - Lleida; Varietals: 40% tempranillo, 25% cab. sauvignon, 23% garnacha, 12% merlot; 92 Points - Jay Miller - The Wine Advocate - "aged for 12 months in French oak, 50% new. Inky-colored, it offers an expressive bouquet of pain grille, smoke, kirsch, and blackberry. This is followed by a forward, medium to full-bodied wine that is oh so easy to drink. Sweet and ripe, with no hard edges, this wine can be enjoyed now and over the next 6-8 years."

(about 1 year ago)I expected a lot more from this wine. While it did contain a depth of complexity, I found the bottle to be awkward, out of balance, and sharp-edged. Leaning toward old-world in style, which I enjoy, this effort felt a little forced. I've had this bottle twice now and have had the same experience (once the wine was decanted). This is NOT a bad wine, I just had a much higher expectation, and do NOT think that this is a great wine... + or - evals... (about 1 year ago)An oddity. Smooth as all hell, and subtly reminiscent of a leafy flavor I've come to associate with Napa Cabs. On the other hand it's so smooth that there's hardly anything there. I don't think I have the palette for this one.

(9 months ago)Initially tasted this after letting it breathe 12 hours or so and didn't really think much of it. Then, put a stopper in it and waited another 2 or 3 days and found a really intense caramel aroma and flavor. However, it still seems fairly one dimensional, which is why it gets 89.
