Although Talus is a California label, this particular vintage was actually produced in France, in the Vins de Pays D'Oc region of Languedoc. This Pinot has a light, delicate nose with subtle tannin and a bit of mothball. The taste is pleasant and fruity, nothing overpowering at all. The tannins assert themselves a little more in the taste with that nice "squeaky teeth" sensation. Simple and a good companion to a variety of food, and a pretty good value for the price.
