I tasted this wine in Spring 2007, over 10 years after the vintage. It's showing beautifully right now. The aroma shows a lot of cedar, leather, and a little bit of cinnamon with a bit of raspberry in the background. The taste is much more fruit-forward, showing plum, raspberry, and cherry prominently, with well-structured tannins and a full, thick mouthfeel. The finish goes on for nearly a minute, revealing a lot of ripeness and fruit flavor for a wine of this age. It's got another 10 years, easily, but I'd drink it between now and 2012.
