Not sure of the exact varietal make up of this wine. In the region of Faugeres they traditionaly use carignan, cinsault, grenache, mourvedre, and syrah. These days alot more of the latter three usually than the first two. In the case of this wine I think alot of Syrah and Grenache. It drinks great now in its youth. A light mouth feel with soft tannins. This wine has an understated jamminess and a hefty nose of black pepper. Consider it a good alternative to a southern Rhone and a good value for its price.
