My wife and I tried this wine and loved it. See below for the W.A. review. It is spot on. Price point is unreal for this wine. The Wine Advocate The 2004 Mas Donis Barrica is 85% Garnacha from 80+-year-old vines and 15% Syrah aged for 8 months in French and American oak. Opaque purple, it has a wonderfully expressive nose of spice box, pencil lead, pepper, blueberry, and blackberry liqueur. On the palate the wine is full-bodied with layers of ripe, spicy black fruits, nicely concealed tannins, and a long, pure finish. It is an outstanding value for drinking now and over the next 4-6 years. Score: 90. —Jay Miller, February 2007.

(about 1 year ago)Deep taste. Smooth. Could drink several bottles of this with a good meal. Excellent with a strip steak.

(about 1 year ago)I did not know what to expect with this wine and so upon finding it's elegant, classy profile, I was easily won over. The body is medium-full with good tannin and smooth mouthfeel. Their is enough spice to bite, but not abrasive. Very good fruit, but not overdone, just the right amount of sweetness. Extremely great value!

(11 months ago)Subtle (weak) fruit on the nose. Maybe even a little b.o. Nice tannins, mild flavor. The taste is all on the sides of your tongue and nothing on the top, even more so than most wines. Great dry finish.

(10 months ago)Dark color. Wood, pepper, and hints of fruit on the nose. Nice so far! Smooth, with firm tannins that linger with pepper, cinnamon (or clove?) tastes mingled with dark berries... oh so tasty.
