Two Hands Gnarly Dudes 2005 Shiraz
(about 1 year ago)This is a very good, well balanced Auz Shiraz. Best to let it breath a bit. It gives off vanilla, licorice and strawberry aromas which make for a very pleasant nose. Has a great mouthfeel…almost creamy, with lots of Strawberry/Cherry fruit balanced with good acidity and tannins with hints of vanilla. The long finish seals the deal for me, making this a solid wine which really delivers, especially at its price point. I can’t imagine anyone turning this one away, easy to recommend, buy to share with friends…drinks great now but has more ageing potential.

(about 1 year ago)This is one of my favorites from Two Hands. Priced at about half as much as most of the Garden Series. Great, dark color. Fruity, rich nose. Solid fruit on the palate, buttery. Good stuff. If you live in NYC, winejunction.com has great deals on this and other Two Hands stuff.

(about 1 year ago)This is a very dark purple wine with an almost syrupy consistency. It has a a bold oaky flavor with fruits that I can't really put my finger on, maybe plum and blackberry. There is a fine peppery finish with maybe a hint of licorice. The one problem I had with this wine was the acidity level. It was just too much for me to really enjoy. As a result I am giving this a somewhat low rating, with the realization that some people could very well enjoy it thoroughly.

(about 1 year ago)Fruit bomb! But a good one! Sweet and spicy. If you like the aussie bombs then here is one for ya.

(9 months ago)Color: dark ruby red Nose: huge cherry component, vanilla, slight pepper note as well. Palate: massive fruit bomb with nestle chocolate. Nice structure and complexity. Black Cherries, raspberries, and milk chocolate last forever. 14.8% alcohol. Had a second time, notes consistent with first tasting. Wine is silky smooth and well structured. I had the wine with roast lamb and the lamb kind of over powered the wine.
