Wine Spectator 89 points. Distinctly peppery, with jazzy blackberry and currant fruit to balance the spice. Round, open finish sails on and on. Drink now through 2010. 8,000 cases made.

Plantagenet Shiraz Western Australia Omrah 2004
(about 1 year ago)Fruity and explosive, with a strong black pepper bouquet and spicy, blackberry and pepper taste. This is what you'd call a "fruit bomb" but the pepper (which is typical of Aussie Shirazes) really smooths-out the fruit and makes it taste more on balance than many Napa Syrahs. Pairs really well with spicy food, like Thai or Szechwan. Terrific value at ten to twelve semoleans.

(9 months ago)Big fruit foward monster. Black cherries on the nose and palate. Black pepper and hints of dark chocolate. Nice New World punch, but not in any way thought provoking, but really tasty. Big tart finish. Pretty good actually.
