A low cost pinot bought to satisfy the girlfriend's love of light bodied wines. Drank with sharp cheddar and triscuits, not a perfect match, but it helped to bring out some of the body.

Dunno about this - Pinots are a wine that requires a certain amount of...care?
Mirassou is not the best of the lot and not a good representation of why Pinot Noir is such a popular grape - kind of like why Wal-Mart cola isn't as good as Coke.
It's not bad wine - no one will be spitting it out. It's actually tasty - mild, a little alcohol in the bouquet and no lingering bite like a Cabernet or Burgundy.
Pair this wine with a party on the deck, Colby, mild Cheddar, Swiss - turkey, ham and Club Crackers.
But it's not a great Pinot.

Surprisingly good, provided you give it time to breathe. Initial tasting was sharp and flavorless, but a subsequent glass (after some aeration) was much better. Rich and full flavors; easy to drink but still juicy with plum, cherry and a little oak. Definitely allow it room to breathe.

a big berry undertone, but I like that. very smooth, very fruity, easy to drink.
