Italian blend: 50% Sangiovese, 45% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. "The aromas leave me speechless- freshly cut roses and lilacs that follow through to crushed blackberry and cherry undertones. Full-bodied but extremely balanced, with velvety tannins and a finish that goes on for minutes. Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best after 2008. 4,100 cases made. - 96 pts. - James Suckling, Wine Spectator

2004 Brancaia Il BLU IGT
(about 1 year ago)Tasted 4/2007 in Illinois. Nice, dark color. Didn't pick up on the floral notes on the nose that WS tasting note reported critique...more red fruit than floral. taste of cherry and game with oak was balanced but not thought-provoking. finish was medium length, not as long as others i've had. This would have been better with food and IMO is not worth the $$.
