Good color and nose of cheries, sour cherries and some earthy mineral elements. Is that cinnamon or mace that I smell? The acidity suggests that the wine could age for a year or so to better open up. The stuff is there but the wine may just need a little time. Opened up after receiving the shipment directly from the winery. Couldn't wait. Bottle shock? I don't think so. Delicious.

IMO the best Clos Pepe Pinot outside of Wes Hagen's own. Great flavors of earth, pencil lead, and truffles. Obviously pairs well with mushrooms and strangely enough uni.
