I have been buying this wine for about a year now,and it has become my house red. I buy it at my local Trader Joe's for $8.99, but have seenn it at almost twice the price elsewhere. Old vine Lodi zins have something special about them-not a profound varietal, but when the grape grows on these old gnarly vines which have not been exposed to root louse and are the real deal (not clones), you get the greatest expression of varietal, terroir and old world farming. This wine at this price will not last much longer.

(about 1 year ago)A well balanced portfolio of raspberry fruit, briary wood, and some peppery-bark on the finish. Very up-front in a drink-now fashion. As food-friendly a wine as I can imagine.

(12 months ago)First bottle was corked (boo-hissss!), however, the second one was very good. Striking ripe raspberries, hints of black cherry and a touch of strawberry on the finish. A little dull on the nose, but good on the palette.
