Spicey, hints of bacon fat and smoke on the nose. Very tart fruit, barely ripe Raspberries, and a leather or cigar tobacco on the mid-palate. Well made. Good structure. Very firm tannins. Bright. Age would open it up but it is not that complicated a wine. Pop it open a couple of hours before a barbeque. A must with food.
