2003 Yellow Tail Shiraz
(2006-07-22 11:53:44 UTC)Always a delight, Yellowtail makes one of my favorite red shiraz's. It's bold, rich taste fills the senses without leaving the throat gasping for air. Not too dry, woodsy and kind to the taste buds.

(2006-06-13 21:54:09 UTC)What I consider to be a "top shelf" gas station wine. You know, the kind of gas station with a fancy beer garden and a wooden wine rack across from the 10W-40.
Paired excellently with a Papa John's Sausage and Pepperoni pizza, this wine was very smooth, and its taste stayed consistent to the bottom of the bottle.
A great summer-time red.

Its combination of affordability, drinkability, and availability may be doing it a disservice, depending on who you listen to: I have heard (from sources neither known to be credible nor corroborated) that this wine, like Gallo White Zinfandel, is becoming the hallmark of the ignorant and/or pretentious. Not that I care; I just like how it tastes, especially with a nice slab of rare beef!
