A little too 'woody' for me. Strong, lingering finish. Average nose. The woody-ness of it blocks the other flavors from shining through for me. A good buy, worth a shot, but not for me.

The nose introduced scents of honey, berries, and pepper. The palate was a pleasant blend of pomegranate, spice, with a very slight sweet red berry undertone. As much as I ho-hummed Barefoot's Merlot selection I really found myself enjoying this wine. The tannin acidity was present but very mild and even though there was a definite wood dryness on the finish it wasn't at all unpleasant. Great wine for this price.

Strong herbal wood character, with some spicy fruit notes. Taste is smooth and balanced, with plenty of fruit and oak, but lacking something at the core. Still, very good for the price.
