Casal Garcia Vinho Verde
(over 2 years ago)A lightly effervescent white. Great with salty snacks and like appetizers, such as anchovies, olives, and cheeses. Must be served well chilled, and should be young (hence the name green wine!) Wonderful on those hot summer evenings with some friends.

(over 2 years ago)perky! it was just right w/ our mediterranean-ish lunch on a hot summer day.

(over 2 years ago)I love this and drink it all the time, even if a snooty waiter in Lisbon called it, 'Supermarket wine.' Perfect for Summer! Although it's $8 in NYC, which is a crime.

(over 2 years ago)I give this a 3, as I thought it fell somehere in the 3-4 range and my wife was less impressed. I got a citrus aroma and a light taste while she was somewhat turned off by what she detected as a slight smell of tires. In any event, worth it for the price.

(over 2 years ago)This is more of a 3.5 star wine, but I'll give it 4. It's a very light wine w/ medium crispness. It's not very complex, but yet is very refershing and adictive. I get some good citrus notes w/ a slight tart/chalky finish.

(over 2 years ago)Crisp light bodied white. High acid makes it food friendly. Heavy citrus flavors (lemon) with some earth/vegetable notes of grass and asparagus. Slightly effervescent. Nothing showing on the mid palate, with some honeydew and slight mineral chalkiness on the finish. I had it with grilled chicken and vegetables and it was fine. It's worth noting that wines from this region can be had for under 5 bucks.

(over 2 years ago)Very light, fizzy, lots of citrus...nice cheap refreshing summer wine.
Casal Garcia Vinho Verde
(about 1 year ago)Big citrus flavors. I tasted more lime than lemon. Light & refreshing. I think it'd be wonderful for lounging by the pool.
Casal Garcia Vinho Verde
(about 1 year ago)this wine to me is a perfect summer white. light, fruity with mild carbonation, it mixes well with most BBQ foods. being potuguese myself, i drink a lot of this stuff. very fun wine, great for parties and lazy summer days in the sun. also compliments many seafood/shellfish dishes very well, and goes great with salty snacks.

(about 1 year ago)Great wine for a hot summer day. Some people will be turned off by the effervescence, but it's what's perfect in the hot sun. Low in alcohol as well. My standard summer, stand alone wine.
Casal Garcia Vinho Verde
(about 1 year ago)Great perfume. Actually changes character (improves, IMO) as it gets closer to room temperature.

(8 months ago)not much on the nose, mineral taste, slight effervescence is nice compliment to light food, would buy again

(7 months ago)Bubbles hit the nose with a chalky component. Grapefruit on the mid-palate with a sour finish. The bubbles don't adequately hide a flimsy mouthfeel.

(2 months ago)There was really nothing going on with this wine at all. It had a very slight citrus nose that almost reminded me of smelling lemon water. On the palette it was more of the same ... it reminds me of flat seltzer water mixed with aluminum foil. Very bitter lemony after taste, too. Definite pass on this one.
