Wow! This is why I love Bordeaux. Plum and leather on the nose. Very smooth and easy drinking on the palette. Lots of plum, blackcurrant with some barnyard, leather and a dash of white pepper. Good complexity and a long enough finish to make this an outstanding wine and value in my books.

(1 hour of decanting) Grego has nailed it, and the other reviewers (listed under slightly different names) did a great job too (including RP). An intriguing wine with a less than ideal midpalate... but the nose is opulent and the transition to the finish is great. The finish is long and interesting, and pretty smooth except for a little heat (which some like). A great value!!! Update: I left half the bottle out for 24 hours, and it shows nothing like when first opened. Smells strongly of roasted red peppers and maybe some chalk. Finish is still dry and long, but not the same as yesterday. Update 2: Left a quarter of the bottle in the fridge for a couple days, and the nose is still roasted red peppers and olives, but the tannins have now smoothed out.
