This is a dark red wine. The nose brings some evil violets, and I mean that in a good way. Very serious nose. There’s some dark ass strawberry jam. Maybe a little chocolate but I’m not sure. The wine brings some notes of sour cherry surrounded by a cataclysmic bomb of fruit. The wine is, apparently, aptly named. I get some melted chocolate covered cement, remnants of the earthquake no doubt. The finish is Long and lingering, very nasty (and I mean that in endearing fashion). I’m beginning to like the finish better than the actual wine. This is a massive wine, powerful, explosive and hell, I might even buy another bottle. Is it for you? Maybe. It’s certainly not for everyone. This wine is the school bully of the playground at recess. If you’re on his side, you’ll love it. If not, watch out. I’m somewhere in between. Hmm. Maybe a pass. I don’t know.

Monstrous, this wine is one of the darkest I have ever seen. A real tooth stainer. Rich leathery full flavored full bodied. Another great pick while on my journey to find the best Petite Sirah.
