Clos Fremur Damien Laureau 2005 Cabernet

Nose: Upon immediately opening, the wine had the most distinctive aroma of cranberries I've ever found with slight floral notes. Alcohol coming across slightly on the nose but not overwhelming. Over time the nose mellows with notes of leather. Pleasant nose. Taste: Typical of wines that are dominant Cab Franc, this is slightly bitter strong tannins (but not disjointed) with slight vegetal component; most distinctive bacon fat finish that I've come across. Overall: decent effort but I've had better Cab Francs for under $15, so I wouldn't purchase again.

I definitely got cranberries on the nose at first. Then some underlying hints of... beer. Seriously. It was a weird night. Don't have a lot of notes but I thought it was OK, kind of dry, a bit lacking in mouthfeel and fruit, but a drinkable option with dinner. Like gus, I won't be buying it again, but I don't hate myself for having drunk 1.5 glasses.
