I can't help but to attach value along with taste to a rating. Compared to a very good Red Burgundy, or even a really good California or Oregon Pinot, this might not quite keep up (in fact, I think they splash in a little Cab to give more body), but this is a super tasty, accessible Pinot for a great price. First bought it in Los Olivos on a "Sideways" wine trip with my wife. VERY rich, great black fruit, but with decent subtlety. I'm just trying to make my way into the world of Pinot, and this is an inexpensive, enjoyable way to make a start.
