Castello Banfi Brunello di Montalcino 2001
(about 1 year ago)Got this wine on a whim for a special occasion and was quite pleased. The nose included: blueberry, blackberry and cherry with a hint of pepper. The mouth feel was medium-bodied and moderately-dry. The tasting notes included: heavy cherry and black currant, with lighter licorice and pepper notes in the finish. It went really well with the homemade hamburgers, with Stilton and heirloom tomatoes, on toasted ciabatta I grilled up.

(about 1 year ago)Very nice Brunello. Best after decanting. Goes well with Latin food. If it were an actress it would be Ida Lupino.

(about 1 year ago)This wine is definitely one of my favorites. Full bodied, robustly flavored, and extremely smooth. Fairly expensive, but more than worth it. This just might be the best wine I've ever tasted.
