2002 Pinot Gris Brand, Domaine Ehrhart
(about 1 year ago) buddy icon montrose 88.0/100
Very dark gold color. One the nose there is marzipan, brioche and well toasted lemon sugar cookie. The body is oily, with strong suggestions of banana bread with walnuts, Brazil nuts and lemon oil. The finish is still oily, with some lemon and lots of toasted almonds. Not terribly long, but very interesting. The wine is pretty mature and the acid backbone one would expect in a grand cru wine from Alsace is missing, but there is still plenty of life and lots of interest in this wine.
