2005 Rosenblum Cellars Appellation Series, San Francisco Bay Zinfandel
(about 1 year ago)I'm a fan of the Rosenblum Appellation Series from 2004, especially the Paso Robles version. In 2004 I felt the San Francisco Bay Zin was too sweet and much to "hot" to the taste, but the 2005 was any thing but that. This one was a big "Cherry Bomb" in the nose and lots of plum, cherry, blackberry with some chocolate and pepper and not hot at all. As a matter of fact, this one had a nice long smooth finish. And if my memory is correct, the 2005 at 14.8% had less alcohol that it's 2004 predecessor. I've also got a Paso Robles series to check out and will do that on another blog entry. And I'll be buying more of the San Francisco soon!
