2005 Rhone Rebel Cotes du Rhone
(2008-11-03 06:52:24 UTC)Classic Rhone nose. Strawberries, and unripe raspberries. Definitely needs decanting, otherwise alcohol is overpowering, and the finish is short and harsh . BUT,
After a day of sitting with the cork on the bottle this bottle turned into something very pleasant, developing a nose of warm strawberries and cassis. Strange but pleasant bubble-gum kind of thing on the mid-palate.
Good bottle if you're in the mood for something simple..

(2008-06-15 03:50:10 UTC)Cranberries on the nose, with a hint of pepper. Medium body feel with very nice and balanced tannins. The finish is a little shorter than I'd like, but very enjoyable. Great with bratwurst.

(2007-10-26 02:29:42 UTC)Okay, hear this. $6 for a nice French wine. Doesn't change my life, but huge QPR. Aromas of cherries, earth and green veggies. Flavors smooth out a bit once it has been decanted for a while, giving it a nice mouthfeel. Criticism would be that it is perhaps a little thin and simple, but for the price, buy it by the case and serve it to company.

(2007-10-04 16:11:39 UTC)Wow 5.99 talk about QPR this wine is outstanding for this price. This wine is an everyday pleaser(will go great with all kinds of food).Have this wine with a sharp chedder cheese it's perfect. Nose of raspberries and light soil or mud.The mouthfeel is nice and silky with sour cherries and nice balanced tannins with a nice finish of blackberry liquor. Real nice wine, buy it by the case as your house wine.

(2007-09-09 04:21:52 UTC)Bouquet: Straw, soil, sour cherry and this grandma's attic thing going on.
Flavor Profile: Solid, a little sour cherry mixed in with nice tannin structure. Dry on the finish. For 6 bucks a total grab. Blows Yellow Tail, Mondavi, Woodbridge OUT OF THE WATER. A really complex and interesting wine for 6 bucks.

(2007-08-20 13:17:42 UTC)Good color for a GSM blend, very garnet. Not a complicated nose, but with a sense of raspberry or other medium fruit. The body is medium, with a thin hit of fruit in the mid-palate leading to a moderately tannic and fairly quick finish. A very simple wine. It's an easy drinker - like a watered-down Australian fruit bomb - and a tremendous value. For $5, I'm very happy and would buy some more to keep around for days when I don't really want to overthink my wine.

(2007-08-01 03:40:05 UTC)Decent. Under $10.
Nose: peppery strawberry with a hint of alcohol.
Palate: Pretty good. weak strawberries, major pepper midpalate, friendly finish.
