So delicious. Definitely cherry with some saddle leather - floral, smooth, and very drinkable. Paired well with a variety of foods. Yum!

Loads of cherry and beef jerky on the nose. Taste was more dark berry, with some minerality coming through. Great mouth feel, good tannin structure. Not super experienced with northern rhone wines, but I liked it a lot!

Vaynerchuk came out big for this one and I just don't taste what he's talking about. I thought it had a flat bitter cherry taste to it, with a sour dirt undertone - I threw away half of it. It may be just that this winemaker's sensibility doesn't agree with my palate, as I have had several poor to lackluster bottles from Guigal and don't plan on buying any others.

Wonderful bouquet, with a hint of strawberry, dark cherry and a touch of mint. Nice mouthfeel, lush, smooth on the palate. Dark cherry, black raspberry on the finish. A little bit of a meat component, like a smoked sausage. Nice, smooth tannins. Long finish. This is good stuff.

This is one of my favorite bottles. I really enjoy everything about this wine. Its a 96% Syrah and 4% Viogner blend. That touch of Viogner really helps make the wine special. The color is closer to ruby red. The wines aroma has a splendid mocha and espresso. There is also the bacon fat component expected in these wines. The flavors include raspberry and currant. The wine is soft, smooth & rich. It's really wonderful stuff.

Smells of cherry, black currant, smoked bacon, and a little spice.
Tastes like a big, weighty, complex-yet-balanced syrah with no artificial flavoring. Naturally sweet (no sugar added) cherries, blackberries, and something almost meaty that reminds me of the bits of ham my grandmother cooked in her green beans. There's also a bit of pepper and other spices that don't overwhelm. The flavors are round and flood my entire palate, working in perfect harmony--no off-balanced act here.
The finish is long and silky, with something right at the end that's floral or doughy. That finish caught me pleasantly off-guard after my very first sip.
This is among my favorite reds, and it easily bests every Australian shiraz I've had (that I haven't tasted 10+ years post-vintage).
