Zenato Ripassa Superiore Valpolicella 2003
(about 1 year ago)On it's lees for 6 months then 24 months in barrel. American Oak. OAK MONSTER to quote GV. Heavy lanolin taste nearly medicinal, lots of band aid but with hints of cactus flower. Lanolin on the front and back palate, not entirely unpleasant but enough to make you forget about the fruit which seemed to be really abundant and a licorice kick. Guess I'm really saying it's unbalanced. Like sucking on a cotton ball dipped in Nivea with strawberries in your mouth.
