A good effort from a solid vintage, this offers classic notes of dark fruits, earth, tractor tire, mineral, and a hint of cinnamon and peppermint. Midpalate is a bit hollow, but overall this is very classic in style. Medium to full bodied and modestly structured, this is a wine to drink over the next year or two.

Musty earthy cherry with light tannins and lots of acid. Great with food, explosive fruit. Tasty!!

Rich and fruity full-bodied red. Went well with Rosemary infused buffalo sirloin.

First had this wine in a restaurant in Maryland and later bought a couple of bottles. Very pleasant bottle of wine.

I was really excited to try this bottle and wound up disappointed with the results. Color: deep purple/red. Nose: soil/dirt dominated the nose but there was underlying raspberry/blackberry or other dark berries detected. Taste: disappointed with lack of expression. Dark fruits with a hint of spearmint. Kept searching for flavors but really hard to find much complexity, if any. Curse you Central Market wine recommender!

woody smell; sour acidic fruits, especially lemon but also green apple; dark middle; hint of egg/sulfur; tomato finish

A more old world type of Tuscan wine - on the nose: sweaty sock, cement, campfire, and yogurt; on the palate: very dirty (in a good way), but covers very well. Not as clearly expressive as one would hope, but still has the complexity to coax you into another sip.
