Charles Shaw 2004 Merlot
(over 2 years ago)This wine was decent for a Merlot that only costs $3 a bottle. On the plus side, it was not very acidic. However, it was not very fruity or flavorful either. This was a good bottle of wine for a casual picnic with otherwise unremarkable food, but I'd want to step up to a better wine if I was eating something meaningful.

(over 2 years ago)You really can't beat $1.99. Highly drinkable but you'll want to upgrade if company's coming.

(over 2 years ago)Two Buck Chuck! Nothing beats the cheap wine from trader joes. I buy it by the case. Good enough table wine at reasonable prices.

(over 2 years ago)Great everyday table wine! Like others have said you can't beat the price or the taste for 2 Buck Chuck! Happy Tasting! Mike

(over 2 years ago)Nothing beats 3 buck Chuck. You certainly can't complain when paying so little. A great table wine to always have several bottles handy.

(over 2 years ago)A fine end-of-the-workday wine with an unbeatable price.

(over 2 years ago)This wine is pretty tasty. In WA, we call it the Three Buck Chuck, because it's $3 at Trader Joe's. It's kinda smooth -- I generally like drinking it by itself, before a meal.
Charles Shaw 2004 Merlot
(over 2 years ago)$2.99 at Trader Joe's. Tastes like it costs 4 times as much. A bit harsh for a merlot but you could do a lot worse for a lot more.
Charles Shaw 2004 Merlot
(about 1 year ago)This merlot completely misses the mark. Overly dry and tanneny.
Charles Shaw 2004 Merlot
(about 1 year ago)I got a bottle of this for a christmas present this year. My friends told me they had bought a case when they were on vacation and that people called it Three Buck Chuck because it was so cheap. They also told me to chill it to about 65-70 degrees before drinking it. I went home had a glass and was blown away by how good this was. They don't sell it anywhere in town so I'm going to by a case over the net.

(about 1 year ago)I think there was something wrong with our bottle. It was quite lame, even for $3. I think the Shiraz is consistently better.
