Chateau Cambon La Pelouse 2004
(about 1 year ago)Upon opening, the nose is extremely tight and one deminsional. I recommend opening the bottle and decanting for about 3-4 hrs. The wine really opens up and the tannins soften. After decanting there is plumb, currants, and an undertone of cedar, which completely caught me off guard. The flavor is earthy, meaty, with the fruits I described above. The pepper, green and white, come around at the tail end and then disappear leaving an interesting aftertaste. This wine really straddles the fence between old world and new world. This is the first Bordeaux wine I have ever tasted and it definitely won't be the last.

(about 1 year ago)major tannins in this young bordeaux. after a few hours of decanting they fade a bit. currants and leather and meat on the nose. nice fruit forwardness to the palate with a big tannic finish. This wine will be out of this world in 3-5 years!!

(about 1 year ago)Good structure. Not very diverse or resourceful in its flavor profile. Very true to its terroir, and showing good quality. That's about it.
