I got this as part of a close-out deal, I believe the winery went out of business. Though it may now be very hard to find it was worth the price I paid. Usually around 16 usd, I would have paid the same to drink it again.

Wow, this wine was surprisingly well rounded for 15.4% alcohol! On the nose, sort of a vanilla cherry-milk essence with darker notes of chocolate and even toast. On the palate, it was surprisingly smooth and well rounded, just a tad sweet. It did not have the acidity of a true brunello/sangiovese, and it certainly spoke more of California than Italy (which is fine). Pretty good for $18.
