2002 Lewis Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
(about 1 year ago)Big, chewey, oakey, with tons and tons of ripe fruit. The nose in this wine is pure fruit and vanilla oak, with blackberries, cassis, black cherries, and a hint of plum. On the palate, the berries contine and are framed by the toasty vanilla American oak and subtle rounding tannins. This was a bit over the top for my taste but still well made. I personally don not feel it lived up to the hype given by Wine Speculator.
