2002 Lewis Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Big, chewey, oakey, with tons and tons of ripe fruit. The nose in this wine is pure fruit and vanilla oak, with blackberries, cassis, black cherries, and a hint of plum. On the palate, the berries contine and are framed by the toasty vanilla American oak and subtle rounding tannins. This was a bit over the top for my taste but still well made. I personally don not feel it lived up to the hype given by Wine Speculator.
